Speech Bubble Die Cuts

November 15th, 2012

These speech bubble die cuts are some of my favourites, and I’m hoping to get a moment or two this week to make a layout with them. They would look pretty rad on cards and things as well I think!

The inspiration I’ve used from them is a VERY cute page in one of Elizabeth Kartchner’s new baby mini book she’s made for baby number 4. In her layout she uses a similar style speech bubble die cut with “Hello” cut out of it to put on the ultrasound of the new baby. Sweet! Anyway, I think these would be sweet for lots of different layouts.

You might see in the video that I cut these on a Cricut Expressions with the program Sure Cuts A Lot 2. I’ve included the file HERE for you to download. If you use a different die cutting machine let me know and I’ll see if I can make it available for you also. :-)

Here’s the video:

Last night I had a go at making some tags with words cut out of them on my cricut. I’m seeking them a lot lately around my Scrapbooking sphere, and I really like it!

This is part one is my series on Scrapbooking Venice (Venezia). I just wanted to show you the pages that I have done on our day there in October 2010, so I’ve made this video as an overview!

Scrapbooking Dilemma: One photo that doesn’t fit into the layout!

November 6th, 2012

So yes, yesterday I showed you the “Trevi” page I did, and I mentioned how there was an additional photo I wanted to include. Below I’ve included a video of how I did this!

“Trevi” Scrapbooking Layout

November 5th, 2012

We visited the Trevi fountain in Rome as the sun was starting to set. It was a really magical time, and the fountain was so much more amazing and bigger than I imagined.

This layout was one I copied from a Glitter Girl episode. The main alterations I made was a) using half size photos instead of squares, and b) making the paper pieces smaller than the photos so they show the background paper as a border.

I really enjoy layouts like this, and really should make them more often. I imagine it would look good with the journalling on one of the blocks, and it doesn’t have to necessarily be below.

There was actually one more photo that I wanted to include in this page. A 4×6 photo with both of us in it. I’ll share with you tomorrow how I chose to include it. :-)

Scrapbooking- Interactive layout with up to 15 photos

November 4th, 2012

Having visitors at the hospital when Lior was born was one of my favourite things. I loved people coming in to see us, and to be honest, I wish MORE people had come to see us in the hospital! There were quite a lot of photos, and I didn’t want to do a grid layout like I normally do with lots of photos. I did this layout using concertina folds last year and I really like that technique. I mixed it up a bit from the original layout for two reasons: 1) I didn’t want to do a double layout, and 2) I wanted to sort of divide the different types of people who visited. The top concertina is grandparents (& great grandparents), the group below that is aunts and uncles, and the last group is friends. Photos really wouldn’t do this layout justice, so I’ve done a video below:

Giveaway :: Four Mystery Paper Packs!

October 29th, 2012

paper mystery pack

Well, after such a fantastic response to our last mystery paper pack giveaway, I thought we would give away some more! This time I’ve got FOUR colour co-ordinated paper packs to give away. One each week for the month of November!

To enter, all you have to do go to our facebook page and on the wall share a project you’ve found on or off line that you’d like to do if you win (if you found your inspiration project offline, please share a picture and details of where you found it). You can enter once each week, but if you’ve won a previous mystery pack this month, then you can’t more than once. If you win, you can choose which pack you’d like me to send you. :-)

Each mystery paper pack includes:

  • Some 12×12 papers and card stock (patterned and plain)
  • Other papers including handmade recycled paper
  • Die cuts
  • Assorted embellishments

Please note: Each paper pack is predominantly the colour range pictured on top, but certainly not limited too. Pack four has quite a bit of greens in it, pack two has some browns and things, and pack one has a bit of red. You get the idea… it’s a MYSTERY after all!

COMPETITION:

To win one of these paper packs, leave your project on our facebook page. The winner will be the project that most inspires me. Bonus points if it’s a project you’ve made yourself and are sharing. ;-)

You’ve got a bit of extra time to enter for the FIRST mystery paper pack because entries are open now!! (I’m impatient like that!!)! Entries for the first paper pack close on 11:59pm the 9th of November. The winner will be announced over on our facebook page on the 10th. :-) Can’t wait to see what you guys share!

Scrapbooking {Breastfeeding}

October 12th, 2012

We’re in Melbourne at the moment, enjoy this post of a scrapbooking layout I did the other week! -T xo

Warning, this post contains boobs!

Breastfeeding has been a pretty special journey for Lior and I. Full of some tough times, but also wonderful times. I didn’t want to include much journalling, as all these photos were from different times. Plus, I am still breastfeeding him, and figure a more reflective, journalling style page will be relevant when we end this journey, not now. Therefore, all I’ve included in these photos is the date each photo was taken.

How nice is this American Crafts thickers? They’re called Garden Cafe, and the colour is custard. BUY them here.

Just a little layout I did of Lior and Pepper having a cuddle. :-)

The Making of a Page…

October 10th, 2012

We’re in Melbourne at the moment, enjoy this post of a scrapbooking layout I did the other week! -T xo

This photo above is how my layout started. Just the photos on a piece of brown card and some embellishment. I really didn’t know where this layout was going to go, and I was fairly sure I had made a mistake with the brown cardstock (brown is really not a colour I like to use…). I’m fairly sure I put this piece of paper on about a half dozen different backgrounds before deciding on this as the final layout.

In the end, I was surprisingly happy with this layout. I used the aqua letters to bring that colour out more, and also used more orangey background papers to made the brown lean more that way then the brown way.
