I’m sharing the tutorial for this hanukkah bunting over at And Sew We Craft. I would love for you to check it out.

So after a little while, I started making it. There’s no pattern I followed, I just made it up. Here’s a video of it being made:

These speech bubble die cuts are some of my favourites, and I’m hoping to get a moment or two this week to make a layout with them. They would look pretty rad on cards and things as well I think!

The inspiration I’ve used from them is a VERY cute page in one of Elizabeth Kartchner’s new baby mini book she’s made for baby number 4. In her layout she uses a similar style speech bubble die cut with “Hello” cut out of it to put on the ultrasound of the new baby. Sweet! Anyway, I think these would be sweet for lots of different layouts.

You might see in the video that I cut these on a Cricut Expressions with the program Sure Cuts A Lot 2. I’ve included the file HERE for you to download. If you use a different die cutting machine let me know and I’ll see if I can make it available for you also.

Last night I had a go at making some tags with words cut out of them on my cricut. I’m seeking them a lot lately around my Scrapbooking sphere, and I really like it!

This is part one is my series on Scrapbooking Venice (Venezia). I just wanted to show you the pages that I have done on our day there in October 2010, so I’ve made this video as an overview!

So yes, yesterday I showed you the “Trevi” page I did, and I mentioned how there was an additional photo I wanted to include. Below I’ve included a video of how I did this!

We visited the Trevi fountain in Rome as the sun was starting to set. It was a really magical time, and the fountain was so much more amazing and bigger than I imagined.

This layout was one I copied from a Glitter Girl episode. The main alterations I made was a) using half size photos instead of squares, and b) making the paper pieces smaller than the photos so they show the background paper as a border.

I really enjoy layouts like this, and really should make them more often. I imagine it would look good with the journalling on one of the blocks, and it doesn’t have to necessarily be below.

There was actually one more photo that I wanted to include in this page. A 4×6 photo with both of us in it. I’ll share with you tomorrow how I chose to include it.

Having visitors at the hospital when Lior was born was one of my favourite things. I loved people coming in to see us, and to be honest, I wish MORE people had come to see us in the hospital! There were quite a lot of photos, and I didn’t want to do a grid layout like I normally do with lots of photos. I did this layout using concertina folds last year and I really like that technique. I mixed it up a bit from the original layout for two reasons: 1) I didn’t want to do a double layout, and 2) I wanted to sort of divide the different types of people who visited. The top concertina is grandparents (& great grandparents), the group below that is aunts and uncles, and the last group is friends. Photos really wouldn’t do this layout justice, so I’ve done a video below:

Please note: Each paper pack is predominantly the colour range pictured on top, but certainly not limited too. Pack four has quite a bit of greens in it, pack two has some browns and things, and pack one has a bit of red. You get the idea… it’s a MYSTERY after all!

I had bought some dye at Spotlight, and decided have a crack at it. I probs should have read the directions, cause I think you’re meant to heat the dye, presumably to get it to set… C’est La Vie! This is the test piece anyway…!

I used a plain blue (dusty blue) fabric to start, and used this Royal Blue dye (brand: RIT). I didn’t follow any of the directions… I just put as much of the dye powder in as I thought it needed, and away we went! I will probably actually read all the directions first next time!
